Michela Robba is Associate Professor of Systems Engineering at University of Genoa. She received the Degree in Environmental Engineering in 2000, and the PhD in Electronic and Computer Engineering in 2004, from the University of Genova. The research activity is in the field of optimization and control of smart grids, electric vehicles, renewable energy resources, and natural resources management. From 2012, she is working at the Savona Campus pilot site (an innovative energy research infrastructure that includes a microgrid, renewables and a smart building) to test different algorithms and energy management systems. She is a member of the scientific board of the Italian Energy Technological Cluster, and of the Liguria Region Innovation Pole on Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development. She is the President of Liguria Region (Italy) Energy Consortium, and she has been scientific responsible of several National and International research projects on smart grids, electrical vehicles, and polygeneration microgrids. From 2019, she is Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on automation science and engineering, from 2023 of International Journal of Robotics and Research, and from 2016 of Energies journal. She has joined several International Programme Committees at conferences in the field of control and optimization, she is member and vice-chair of different IFAC Technical Committees, and she is Chair of publications and Editor for the IFAC IAMES 2022 workshop. She is Chair of the IFAC technical committee on power and energy systems. Actually, she is lecturer for the courses ”Simulation of energy and environmental systems”, ”Models and methods for Energy Engineering”, and ”Methods and models for logistics” at the Polytechnic School of University of Genova. She is author of more than 130 publications in international journals, books and proceedings of international conferences. Michela Robba

Giulio Ferro is Assistant Professor of Systems Engineering at University of Genoa. He received the B.S. degree in industrial engineering, the M.S. degree in power systems engineering and the Ph.D degree in Systems engineering in 2014, 2016, and 2020 respectively, from the University of Genoa (Italy). He was a visiting student at the AAC Lab at MIT, Cambridge, MA. His research work is focused on optimization and management of microgrids, distribution networks, nonlinear system and distributed optimization. He is author of more than 40 publications in international journals, books and proceedings of international conferences. Virginia Casella is attending the 1st year of her PhD at the Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering (DIBRIS), University of Genoa. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering (2020) and her MS degree in Energy Engineering (2022) at the University of Genoa. The research activity she is conducting regards electric mobility, with a particular focus on the optimal charging scheduling of an EVs fleet. Besides, she is studying the currently-underway legislation about renewable energy communities (REC) to set up both planning and scheduling optimization problems for managing REC in a optimal way
Virginia Casella

Yassine Ennassiri is a 2nd year Ph.D. student at the Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering (DIBRIS), University of Genoa. He received his MS degree in Process Engineering (2018) in Morocco and cumulated 3 years of working experience at the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN) as an R&D Analyst (2019 – 2022). He is conducting his research on the optimization and control of energy systems and statistical analysis of the charging demand in EV charging stations in collaboration with the company Duferco Energia.

Daniel Fernandez is a PhD student enrolled in the program “Computer Science and System Engineering” at the University of Genova, with cooperation in the program “Installations and Systems for Industry” at the University of Sevilla. His PhD thesis is focused on models and methods for the optimization and control of energy systems.
He is originally from Spain where he studied for his degree in industrial electronic engineering and his master’s in automatics and robotics. He was working at the University of Sevilla participating in research projects in collaboration with different companies and he is involved with the university and research until now.

Daniel Fernandez Valderrama

Mohammad Javad Jafari, PhD student in System Engineering at the University of Genova. His current PhD project is in collaboration with the Decathlon organization to make an optimal investigation of their complex distribution system. He earned both his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in industrial engineering in Iran. His research interests are Logistics & Supply chain, Mathematical Optimization and Hazardous Materials Management. He has written and collaborated in publishing papers about logistics and optimization. He had 2 years of cooperation with an automotive company (Fouladfam) in Iran as a Senior Expert System Analyst.
